Your Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Astrological Sign
This return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread enthusiasm across the community. From the gradual unveiling of fresh additions ahead of the title's launch, to trainers developing strong views on the full lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With many of the Super Forms showcasing distinctive appearances that highlight their personalities, one idea naturally: What's the best way to link this with astrology? This list is inspired by a mix of vibes, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was almost selected for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that inspire the most fear. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as always furious, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being playful, cheerful, and impulsive. This makes the Ram much more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when angered. Stay on the good side of both and benefit from a powerful partner; should you offend them, be ready to get burned.
Taurus – Mega Heracross
Similar to a loyal Bull, the reliable Heracross, whether in its standard and Mega form, has aided many players in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, each the creature and a Bull are still Fighting types, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unabashed love of treats. Many previous Pokédex entries note their fondness for tasty sap and how it uses its horn to hoard it all, which is pure Taurus energy.
Gemini – Super Medicham
Look at this total royalty. It's impossible to convince me this Pokémon is not the life of any gathering, providing an endless stream of chatter to those who wants to hear. Much like an enrapturing, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly simple to imagine Mega Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their tales. This Pokémon's official description also states its ability to predict an opponent's future actions, which sounds quite similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.
The Crab – Super Manectric
Cancer is commonly regarded as the most sensitive member of the zodiac, a intense symbol famous for frequently becoming wrapped up in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “tremendous amount of energy, but it's too much for Manectric to fully control,” which seems a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. It is also recognized for its capability to create a thundercloud over its own self – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you think I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the lion of the stars? Aside from the reality that it would be far too obvious, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose legs just went viral for being too fabulous (or terrifying, based on your preference). Fans were captivated from the purple starfish, and that’s exactly the identical vibe a Lion brings to the table. This Pokémon is also said to be broadcasting radio waves from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be staging a show, even if for aliens.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Virgo is ideally represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly judgmental is clearly reflected across this Pokémon’s entire evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked expression like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a 401(k), to its inverted visage that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo sends to the group chat when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than creating a plan.
Libra – Mega Audino
Observe this sweet, empathetic creature, who employs the sensors on its ears to detect how others are emotionally by their heartbeat. Consistently empathetic – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to keep the harmony, there are many Libras who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, let’s be honest, it would probably just make them stress even more about others.
The Scorpion – Mega Banette
Banette is a creature with a surprisingly sad backstory: Abandoned as a toy, it gained consciousness through pure hatred and swore revenge on its former owner. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpio acquaintances. A Scorpion loves cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the ideal pair with Mega Banette.
Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha
Each Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly staging a show. Being a Archer myself, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly little jester” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to display its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can think of.
The Goat – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the ability to foresee disasters ahead of time? That exudes the identical vibe as a Goat, who tends to always believe they’re right. The thing is, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute first Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to get in on the ground floor of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Detached air sign Aquarius is arguably the non-fire placement that is closest to a fire sign – its counterpart is Leo, and there are countless memes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s dual Spirit/Flame typing matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's general intimidating aura is also very Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and converts it into power.” If that fails to exactly {encaps
