Both Deceased Students Identified in the Ivy League School Shooting as Authorities Press On With Manhunt for Killer.

Two students who were killed in the weekend's mass shooting in Providence were honored at the start of the week – amid a widespread hunt for their shooter persisted following the freeing by local law enforcement of the sole person of interest in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

The young woman Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was called “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, according to the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which offered condolences for her at a gathering on Sunday.

The victim's identification was verified by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He had big dreams of entering the field of neurosurgery and assisting patients,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a online post.

Details of the Attack

An additional nine individuals were injured in the violent event in the engineering department of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Officials stated late Sunday that a 24-year-old male taken into custody in a police operation at a lodging about 17 miles from the scene earlier in the day was being released.

“We have a murderer out there,” stated Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you have to regroup and go in another, and that is the current situation over the last day or so.”

Ongoing Concerns

Providence’s mayor, Brett Smiley, admitted: “We know that this is likely to cause renewed concern for our city”.

The gunman began shooting inside a room in the engineering building on Saturday, shooting over four dozen bullets from a handgun, a law enforcement official informed the Associated Press.

Law enforcement that entered the inn recovered two firearms and magazines when the individual was detained, as was reported.

Those Hurt
